SIGN seeks to establish a stronger dialogue between the interior and the urban exterior. Its elongated site and turbulent context define the building as a habitable sculpture at the city edge. Varied openings and volumetric shifts extend the movement of the site into the architectural form. Transparency and bulletproof glass shape the commercial floors while responding to the display and security of the jewelry store. A double-skin facade combines brick, stone, and glass to explore heaviness, lightness, and visual suspension. Ultimately, the contrast between commercial and residential zones creates a fluid relationship between ground, city, and interior space.
